What is the first piece of equipment I should add to my home music studio???
I own 2 computers. Both kinda old but very reliable. I just recently came into a little cash and I have spent alot of time making beats using nothing more than Fruity Loops (Like millions of others im sure) anyway, my point is, I want to add something more to my labratory of sound and I was thinking about Akai. They got 2 things I seem to like best. The price difference is huge but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas opinions or experience with either one of these items. The Akai MPC 1000 or The Akai MPD 24 They both strike me as something I can find useful but I don't know which one is the better investment. I have never using ANYTHING more than my PC Keyboard and FruityLoops (keep that in mind) but I like what I hear and I wanna do better. So what do I need to buy first?? Help me out!!
get reason, some monitors (speakers), the mpd and/or a midi keyboard (if you just *HAVE TO HAVE THEM*) and be done with it... then move **SLOWLY** into hardware when you start sellin beats and gainin some recognition
